“BUFF UP THE BLUFF” FALL 2023

 

The Poplar Bluff clean-up will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 (8:00-3:00) Once again this year we are partnering with Henson’s Transfer Station. All drop offs will be at their facility located on the Industrial Park Bypass (355 CR 305) in South Poplar Bluff. 

Proof of City residency will be required at the gate. Drivers must be prepared to unload their own vehicle.

The materials to be accepted at the site include:

 

BULKY ITEMS AND NON-GARBAGE SOLID WASTE

 

Bulky Metal Items such as, scrap metal, lawn mowers other lawn equipment.

Other Bulky Items such as, furniture, carpeting, construction materials.

Refrigerators, Freezers and Air Conditioners MUST have compressors removed before bringing them the to site. If compressors aren’t removed, the item will not be accepted!

No Loads of asphalt shingles.

No Trash from business or construction sites.

No Paint. (Empty Paint cans ok.)

 

TIRES

 

Tires will be accepted by Henson’s with the following charges (+3% user fee if using a card):

$4.00 per passenger car/ light truck tire, $15 per large Truck tire, $20 per Super Singles or equivalent tire, $45 per farm tire or rubber tracks. (NO TIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED IF ON RIMS)

 

LIMBS, BRUSH AND LEAVES:  (NO YARD WASTE WILL NOT BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE)


NOTE: Limbs, Leaves and Brush will still need to be taken to the east side leaf disposal site! Location is approximately ¼ mile east of the corner of South F Street and County Road 604. Only yard waste will be accepted at this site, no logs or stumps, no wire or metal, and all must be of manageable size. 

Leaves will be placed in a separate pile from all other materials. No plastic bags or foreign material may be left at leaf disposal site. 

 

Unloading on site will be the responsibility of the persons hauling the yard waste.

 

ELDERLY CURBSIDE PICKUP/CALL – IN

 

Items will be picked up for elderly (65 and older) ONLY

If prior arrangements have been made by calling the following number.

Calls will be accepted weekdays, Monday, October 9th thru Thursday, October 12th, 2023.

from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

No calls will be taken before Monday, October 9th or  after Thursday, October 12th, 2023.

 This will be the only way to be included in the curbside pickups.

Please DO NOT call if you DO NOT qualify. 

Pick-ups will be SATURDAY, October 14, 2023 

We will accept computers and tvs.
