The City Council of the City of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, will receive letters of interest from persons wishing to fill the unexpired term of City Councilman At-Large Robert Duckett until the next General Municipal Election in the City of Poplar Bluff.

Letters of interest should be addressed to the Mayor of the City of Poplar Bluff, 501 Vine Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 63901.  Applicants should submit a resume and include a statement as to why they would like to be appointed to the City Council as well as to the goals and objectives they would like to see accomplished if appointed.

To qualify as a City Councilman a person must be twenty-one (21) years of age, a citizen of the United States, a qualified voter and an inhabitant of the City for one (1) year.   No person shall be appointed to this position who is in arrears for any tax lien, forfeiture or defalcation in office.   Any person who shall be appointed to the At-Large position on the Council must remain an inhabitant of the City throughout his or her term on the Council.

Letters of interest should be received by the Mayor on or before 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023.
