[ARCHIVED] A Message from the City Manager Regarding COVID - 19

Important message

The City of Poplar Bluff is taking the Coronavirus very seriously. It is anticipated that the steps that are being taken to slow the spread of the virus could last for weeks and maybe even a month or two. I hope it is much quicker. We are following State and Federal Guidelines to protect the employees of the City and the community. Butler County Emergency Management (EMA) has opened the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at the Poplar Bluff Police Department. Staff from the local hospitals, emergency services and County and City officials are meeting daily at 2 PM for updates.

To protect City employees and the public, we have put most of our offices on a lockdown situation, meaning we are not allowing the public in the offices unless it is necessary. The Coliseum and the Pool and Fitness Center have been closed until further notice. To some these steps may seem radical but as I mentioned before we are following suggestions made by the State and Federal Governments.

Please be safe, care for your loved ones, and your co-workers, and say a prayer
